Job summary

Fayette County Public Schools in Lexington, KY seeks a Districtwide Lead Utility Worker to supervise utility workers and perform maintenance, grounds, and custodial duties across district facilities.

The role reports to the Superintendent’s Designee and requires strong leadership, the ability to train others, and experience with heavy equipment. Valid KY CDL is required and the position is full-time with a 12-month calendar.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or preferred.
• Three years increasingly responsible grounds, maintenance or custodial experience preferred.
• Valid Kentucky Commercial Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Train, assign and provide work direction to utility workers.
• Perform general maintenance, grounds and custodial duties.
• Operate heavy or specialized equipment and a variety of tools.
• Maintain logs and inventories; order equipment and supplies.
• Report repair needs to maintenance personnel and assist as assigned.
• Maintain tools and equipment in a safe, clean condition.
