Job summary

Wakefield Public Schools is seeking a Districtwide .5 Reading Teacher for Elementary to deliver focused reading instruction across the district. This part-time role requires a Bachelor’s degree and MA license, with alternatives possible as approved by the Superintendent.

The teacher will plan lessons, assess student progress, and maintain records. Collaboration with parents and ongoing professional development are expected to support student achievement in reading.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree and MA license.
• Alternatives to the above qualifications as determined by the Superintendent.

Responsibilities

• Deliver reading instruction to students.
• Prepare objectives and outlines for the course of study aligned with state frameworks.
• Administer, correct assessments and record results.
• Discuss student progress with parents.
• Maintain grade records as required by the school.
• Plan, organize and deliver appropriate instruction.
• Maintain IPDP for licensure and DESE licensure.
