Job summary

Qualifications

• Currently employed as a teacher in Hackensack Public Schools with a valid New Jersey instructional certificate appropriate to the assigned position.
• Demonstrates knowledge of district curriculum and New Jersey Student Learning Standards.
• Understands standards-aligned formative and summative assessment practices and how to use data to inform instruction.
• Ability to analyze student achievement data and guide colleagues to instructional next steps.
• Understanding MTSS tiers and their connections to screening, progress monitoring, and instruction.
• Knowledge of differentiated instruction for diverse learners including multilingual learners and students with disabilities.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with colleagues.
• Ability to facilitate collaborative conversations and guide teams toward agreed instructional next steps.
• Experience contributing to or leading Professional Learning Communities and collaborative planning.
• Commitment to ongoing professional growth and district-provided learning.
• Maintains confidentiality and professional judgment.

Responsibilities

• Lead structured data conversations using district protocols and schedules to examine achievement and growth data.
• Guide colleagues in analyzing student work to identify strengths and learning needs.
• Facilitate PLCs and collaborative planning across buildings, grade spans, and departments.
• Coordinate professional learning aligned with district MTSS and standards.
• Prepare agendas, protocols, and materials for professional learning activities.
• Gather educator feedback and communicate emerging professional learning needs to leadership.
• Maintain time records and documentation of planning and activities.
• Support district initiatives and connections across schools and departments.
• Participate in orientation and meetings with district leadership as appropriate.
• Ensure collaborative, non-evaluative support for teacher leadership.
• Collaborate with Reading Specialists, interventionists, multilingual educators, and special education staff to support MTSS.
