Job summary

MSAD 54 Superintendent’s Office seeks a qualified coordinator to lead district-wide MaineCare operations in support of special education programs.

The role requires Maine DOE certification, CHRC, and a credential pathway such as codes 030/035/282 with related master's and 5+ years of special education experience. You will collaborate with district leadership to ensure compliant documentation, billing, and IEP process adherence.

Qualifications

• Must hold appropriate certification or licensure as defined by the Maine Department of Education.
• Current Criminal History Records Check (CHRC) required.
• Credentials may include codes 030, 035, or 282, or another applicable special education teaching certification with a related master's degree and/or at least five years of special education teaching experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate MaineCare processes district-wide including documentation, reimbursement, and compliance.
• Track referrals, evaluations, eligibility, service initiation, and follow-up with families and providers.
• Develop procedures for required documentation (referrals, consents, treatment plans, qualifications, service records, billing).
• Monitor claims, reimbursements, denials, and documentation to improve accuracy and efficiency.
• Coordinate ITP development, review, and alignment with IEP requirements; monitor service delivery documentation.
• Provide training and technical assistance to special education staff, BHPs, clinicians, and related providers.
• Coordinate BHP referrals, credentialing, supervision, and professional development with partners.
• Facilitate IEP meetings as district representative ensuring compliance and proper documentation.
• Assist in monitoring district-wide IEP timelines, evaluations, and other requirements.
• Collaborate with district leadership to monitor program effectiveness and identify improvement opportunities.
• Provide administrative updates to Special Education Co-Directors, Director of Finance, and Assistant Superintendent.
