Job summary

Bloomington Public Schools seeks a Floating Satellite Manager to oversee district-wide food service operations year-round. The role leads staff, ensures safe, compliant meal preparation, service, and sanitation, and maintains records of meals and temperatures across sites.

The position requires collaboration with principals, staff, and students, strong leadership, and proficiency with POS and computer programs. Travel across locations is expected with a focus on quality service and safety.

Qualifications

• Three years or more in school food service.
• Certified Food Protection Manager License (or within 30 days).
• SNA Certification Level 2 preferred (or within 1 year).
• Demonstrated human relation skills in interacting with principals, staff, students, and public.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate leadership in managing food service staff.
• Collaborate on preparation, service, sanitation, and recording meals with temperatures and items used.
• Understand MN Food Code and USDA Guidelines for School Nutrition.
• Adhere to District rules and policies at all times.
• Operate and supervise kitchen equipment (kettles, steamers, mixers, ovens, choppers) and food prep across sites.
• Prepare and cook foods for schools following recipes and procedures.
• Supervise others assigned to this area and manage basic arithmetic for portions.
• Assist in inventory management and cash handling using computer systems.
