Campbell County School District #1 is seeking an Itinerant Special Education Teacher for the remainder of the 2025-2026 school year. The position provides coverage for Special Education teacher absences across district schools and is based at the Special Services Center in Lakeway Learning Center.

Applicants must hold current Special Education certification through the Professional Teaching Standards Board (PTSB).

Qualifikationen

• SKILLS are required to perform multiple, highly complex, technical tasks with a need to occasionally upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions.
• KNOWLEDGE is required to perform algebra and/or geometry; read technical information, compose a variety of documents, and/or facilitate group discussions; and analyze situations to define issues and draw conclusions.
• ABILITY is required to schedule a number of activities, meetings, and/or events; gather, collate, and/or classify data; and consider a number of factors when using equipment.

Aufgaben

• Adapts classroom work for the purpose of providing students with instructional materials that address individualized learning plans within established lesson plans.
• Administers under supervision, first aid and assistance to medically fragile children for the purpose of providing appropriate care for children as assigned.
• Administers developmental testing programs and assessments for the purpose of assessing student competency levels and/or developing individual learning plans.
• Advises parents and/or guardians of student progress for the purpose of communicating expectations and progress.
• Assesses student progress towards objectives for the purpose of providing feedback to students, parents and administration.
• Collaborates with staff and resources for the purpose of improving student outcomes and supporting the school improvement plan.
• Creates individualized educational plans (IEPs) for specific students to ensure proper instruction and compliance.
• Demonstrates methods required to perform classroom assignments for the purpose of providing an effective program addressing student needs.
• Directs assistant teachers and volunteers to provide an effective classroom program.
• Instructs students to improve academic, interpersonal and daily living skills.
• Monitors student behavior for a safe learning environment.
• Participates in meetings and prepares written records for mandated requirements including IEP progress reports.
• Reports incidents to maintain safety and adherence to school policies.
• Responds to emergencies for immediate safety and referrals.

Ausbildung

Bachelor's Degree with a certificate in Special Education
