Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Meet and instruct assigned classes in the location at scheduled times using approved curriculum guides.
  • Maintain a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to student maturity.
  • Develop daily lesson plans and provide individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to each pupil.
  • Translate lesson plans into learning experiences to maximize instructional time.
  • Evaluate pupil progress and maintain records and progress reports.
  • Communicate with parents through report cards, notes, conferences and other means.
  • Assess student learning needs regularly and involve district specialists as needed.
  • Establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior per the Student Code of Conduct.
  • Protect students and school property from hazards and maintain safe learning spaces.
  • Create engaging displays and centers to support instruction.
  • Maintain confidential student records as required by policy and law.
  • Pursue professional development activities for ongoing growth.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan and implement programs meeting diverse student needs including IEPs.
  • Participate in evaluation processes and assist in selecting instructional materials.
  • Supervise pupils during and outside classroom activities.
  • Engage in staff meetings and potential committee work.
