Job summary

Killingly Public Schools is seeking a District Social Media Coordinator (Stipend Position) to manage the district's social presence, highlight student and staff achievements, and promote events across schools. The role supports communication with families and the community while upholding branding and FERPA/compliance standards.

The position involves capturing media, creating posts, and coordinating with administrators.

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience managing social media for school, nonprofit, or organization.
• Photography and basic videography skills preferred.
• Experience with Canva or similar design software preferred.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with school and district staff.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Capture photos and videos of students, staff, programs, events, and activities throughout the district.
• Create and publish engaging content for the district's social media platforms.
• Promote school events, district initiatives, student achievements, athletics, arts, and community partnerships.
• Collaborate with school administrators and district staff to identify positive stories happening throughout the district.
• Maintain a consistent district voice while reflecting the district's mission, values, and branding.
• Ensure content complies with FERPA, copyright laws, and district policies.
• Maintain a regular posting schedule to ensure timely and engaging communication.
• Travel between district schools to capture events and activities.
• Attend occasional evening and weekend events as needed to support district communications.
