Job summary

ReNEW Schools seeks a School Safety and Security Coordinator to lead district-wide safety initiatives. This exempt, full-time role reports to the Superintendent and oversees security across campuses and events, coordinating with law enforcement and emergency management.

The coordinator directly supervises security staff, develops comprehensive safety programs, and ensures compliance with regulations. Strong leadership and communication are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Public Safety, Emergency Management, Education Administration, or related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in school safety, law enforcement, or emergency management.
• Supervisory or program management experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of safety, threat assessment, and crisis intervention best practices.

Responsibilities

• Oversee district security personnel to ensure standards and accountability.
• Serve as working supervisor, performing security duties as needed for coverage.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive safety and security programs for all campuses.
• Coordinate with law enforcement and emergency management to enhance preparedness.
• Ensure compliance with state/federal regulations and document drills/audits.
• Provide security planning for after-school events and district functions.
• Lead training on security procedures and incident response.
