Job summary

Braintree Public Schools District is seeking a School Nurse Float to provide direct clinical nursing services across district sites in Braintree, MA. You will work under the Director of Nursing Services and school administrators to support student health needs and maintain health records.

The role requires a MA RN license with at least two years of school health experience, willingness to obtain school nursing certification or a Master’s degree within five years, and proficiency in WORD/EXCEL

Qualifications

Must hold a registered nurse license in Massachusetts
Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an NLN-accredited program
Minimum of two years of nursing experience in school/child health
School nurse licensure from MA Department of Elementary and Secondary Education
Commitment to pursue certification in school nursing or a Master’s degree within 5 years
Basic computer knowledge including WORD and EXCEL, and EMR systems
Completion of an orientation program for school health services
Maintain BLS Healthcare Provider CPR certification

Responsibilities

Develop and implement an individualized health care plan for students
Provide emergent and non-emergent care to students and staff
Administer medications per state regulations and treatments
Collaborate with nursing director and school administrators to improve health programs
Maintain comprehensive school health records and reports
Contribute to immunization surveillance and screening programs
Promote safety and health education within the school community
Participate in professional development and ongoing education
