Job summary

RUNGE ISD in Runge, Texas is seeking a School Counselor to plan, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive counseling program at the assigned campus. The role includes guiding students academically, career-wise, and personally while addressing needs of special populations and crisis situations.

The successful candidate will report to the Principal, collaborate with staff, parents/guardians, and the community, and deliver guidance curriculum across group sizes.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in counseling from an accredited college or university.
• Valid Texas school counselor certificate.
• Knowledge of counseling procedures, student appraisal, and career development.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior.
• Ability to present information in one-on-one, small group, and large group situations to students, parents or guardians, and district staff.
• Three years teaching experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, implement, and deliver structured guidance lessons according to the district’s guidance curriculum.
• Provide responsive counseling services during crises and support students in need.
• Assist in monitoring academic, career, personal, and social development of students.
• Support at-risk students and collaborate with staff, parents, and community.
• Supervise counseling aides and administrative staff involved with the program.
• Maintain compliance with policies and safety procedures and participate in district improvement efforts.
