Qualifications

  • At least two years of sales experience in industrial, chemical, food & beverage, or related industries.
  • Proven lead generation, prospecting, closing new business, and giving effective presentations.
  • Proven ability to build and manage long-term customer relationships.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% including overnight travel.
  • Strong consultative selling, negotiation, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Generate new business by identifying leads, prospecting, cold calling, and building relationships in the Central Florida market.
  • Manage a portfolio of mid-sized and large accounts and identify opportunities to expand relationships.
  • Understand client operations and recommend solutions to reduce costs and improve production quality.
  • Maintain deep knowledge of products/services to answer questions and communicate value.
  • Monitor market trends, competitors, and industry developments.
  • Use a value-added sales approach to win new customers and retain recurring consumable business.
  • Prepare proposals, negotiate and close contracts and agreements.
  • Track sales activity, maintain CRM records, and analyze sales data.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure coordinated approach and support organic growth.
  • Collaborate with R&D and technical teams to identify selling opportunities.
  • Consistently achieve individual and team sales goals.
  • Travel to client sites to develop relationships and grow sales.

Our client is seeking a high-achieving sales professional to manage and grow its Central Florida territory. This region offers significant growth potential, and the successful candidate will be responsible for developing new business while maintaining and expanding existing customer relationships.

The District Sales Manager will work closely with the sales, growth, and technical teams to deliver value-added chemical treatment and process solutions to customers within the food and beverage industry. This individual should have a successful track record of cold calling, prospecting, generating new business, and managing long-term customer relationships.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, results-oriented, and comfortable working in an entrepreneurial environment. They will bring a consultative approach to solving customer challenges while demonstrating strong communication, customer focus, innovation, integrity, safety awareness, and a passion for success.

Key Responsibilities

Generate new business by identifying leads, prospecting, cold calling, and building relationships within the Central Florida market.

Manage a portfolio of mid-sized and large accounts while identifying opportunities to expand existing customer relationships.

Develop a strong understanding of customer operations and recommend solutions that reduce costs, improve production quality, and support health, safety, and environmental objectives.

Maintain an in-depth understanding of the company’s products and services to effectively answer customer questions and communicate value.

Monitor market trends, competitor offerings, and relevant industry developments.

Use a consultative, value-added sales approach to win new customers and retain recurring consumable business.

Prepare proposals and negotiate and close sales contracts and agreements.

Track sales activity, maintain accurate CRM records, prepare reports, and analyze sales data.

Communicate customer needs and requirements across internal functional teams to ensure a coordinated approach and support organic sales growth.

Collaborate with the Research and Development and technical teams to identify selling opportunities and support account management.

Consistently achieve individual and team sales goals.

Travel to current and prospective customer locations to develop relationships, provide support, and grow sales.

Perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Minimum Qualifications

At least two years of sales experience within the industrial, chemical, food and beverage, or a related industry.

Demonstrated success in lead generation, prospecting, closing new business, and delivering effective presentations.

Proven ability to build and manage long-term customer relationships.

Strong drive to achieve results and grow a territory.

Excellent time-management skills with the ability to prioritize responsibilities and meet deadlines.

Strong consultative selling, negotiation, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to quickly learn technical product lines and effectively communicate their value to customers.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and customer relationship management systems.

Demonstrated sales and territory-management capabilities.

Ability to travel up to 25%, including occasional overnight travel.

Ability to perform technical and mechanical testing at customer sites.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, business, or a related field preferred.
