Job summary

The Rowland Unified School District is seeking a Director of Safety and Security to lead a comprehensive district-wide program protecting students, staff, visitors, and property. Under the Assistant Superintendent, Administrative Services, you will direct safety operations, budget, training, and emergency preparedness, serving as liaison to law enforcement and partners.

Must have a bachelor's degree in a relevant field and five years in safety or security with supervisory experience; incumbents

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, public administration, emergency management, security management, or related field.
• Up to two years of K-12 district supervisory-related experience may substitute for the required education.
• Five years of experience in safety, security, or law enforcement with at least three years in a supervisory or management capacity.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and evaluate a comprehensive district-wide safety and security program.
• Lead campus safety, field patrol, dispatch, and communications; manage investigations and threat assessment.
• Develop policies, procedures, and systems to ensure legal compliance and district goals.
• Oversee budgeting, equipment/technology oversight, and staff deployment.
• Coordinate with law enforcement, fire, and community partners as needed.
