Job summary

City Schools Of Decatur in Decatur, GA, seeks a Safety and Security Associate to provide districtwide technical and operational support for integrated security systems, fire and life safety programs, emergency preparedness, exercises, and workforce training. This grant-funded, full-time position reports to the Director of Safety and Security and covers a 225-day work calendar.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience, HR approved.
• At least 5+ years of relevant safety, security operations, or emergency management experience.
• Safety training and certificates.
• Ability to maintain records, analyze incidents, and train adults.
• Valid driver's license and ability to meet district driving requirements.
• Background screening as required by district policy.

Responsibilities

• Support districtwide safety and security operations procedures and incident priorities.
• Maintain incident logs, SOPs, response checklists, and readiness across sites.
• Deliver training on SRP, emergency notifications, and activation workflows.
• Prepare dashboards on alarms, drills, training completion, and deficiencies.
