Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a District Support Pharmacist (DSP) in a part-time capacity to support multiple CVS Pharmacy locations within the district. The role emphasizes patient safety, immunization services, and leading pharmacy operations in the absence of the Pharmacy Manager.

The DSP will travel within the district to cover shifts, ensure accurate dispensing, and coach the team to provide compassionate patient care while navigating insurance and medication issues.

Qualifications

• Active Pharmacist License in the state where the Store is located.
• Active National Provider Identifier (NPI).
• Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list.

Responsibilities

• Manage and improve patient health through safe dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices.
• Travel within the district to fill pharmacist shifts; oversee the pharmacy and act as proxy for Pharmacy Manager during bench shifts.
• Support safe prescription fulfillment by following workflow procedures and safety guardrails at every workstation.
• Assume Pharmacy Manager’s duties when serving as the primary pharmacist on duty.
• Provide compassionate care and coach the pharmacy team to resolve insurance and medication issues.
• Deliver immunizations and support pharmacists and technicians to immunize.
• Assist inventory management with focus on protecting cold chain products.
