CVS Health is hiring a Pharmacist to support patient care across retail pharmacy operations in New Jersey. The role emphasizes dispensing, patient counseling, immunizations, and collaboration with the care team to improve outcomes.

The position requires active pharmacist licensure, an active NPI, and compliance with all relevant laws and CVS policies. Regular travel within the district is expected to cover shifts and support stores.

Qualifications

• Active Pharmacist License in the state where the store is located.
• Active National Provider Identifier (NPI) is required.
• Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list.

Responsibilities

• Living our purpose by helping to manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices.
• Traveling the district to fill pharmacist shifts as scheduled by the District Performance Coordinator (DPC) and serving as the Pharmacy Manager’s proxy.
• Supporting safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following pharmacy workflow procedures and safety guardrails at every workstation.
• Assumes Pharmacy Manager’s day-to-day duties when serving as the only or primary pharmacist-on-duty.
• Contributing to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and coaching the pharmacy team to do the same: collaborating with the patient’s healthcare team and resolving issues with insurance or medications.
• Proactively offering and delivering immunizations to keep patients healthy; guiding technicians to learn to immunize.
• Managing pharmacy inventory with best practices, with focus on protecting cold chain products.
• Maintaining relevant clinical and technical skills; pursuing trainings and CMEs as needed.
• Supporting access to care and improving patient outcomes through pharmacist-delivered clinical care where permissible; empowering the team to provide holistic care.
• Complying with federal and state laws, CVS Health policies, and protecting patient privacy and safety.
