Job summary

City of Mesquite is seeking a hands-on Park Maintenance Worker to keep city parks, medians and rights‑of‑way clean and safe. You will operate heavy park maintenance equipment, mow grass, trim trees, plant and remove debris, and assist in Urban Forestry programs.

The role requires at least six months of park maintenance experience, a valid driver’s license, and basic reading/writing skills. Typical schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with overtime and weekend work as needed.

Qualifications

• Six (6) months of maintenance work involving operation of park maintenance equipment.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to read and write at a level suitable for job tasks.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy park maintenance equipment including tractors and mowers for mowing and tree trimming.
• Perform semi-skilled park maintenance and assist in Urban Forestry programs.
• Identify equipment needs, transport gear, and perform basic maintenance and lubrication.
• Participate in park facilities maintenance and litter control activities.
• Maintain work, time and material records and follow safety rules.
