Job summary

Responsive Education Solutions seeks a District Mental / Behavioral Health Counselor to plan, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive guidance and counseling program across grant-funded campuses.

The counselor will promote student mental wellbeing, provide suicide prevention, trauma-informed practices, and collaborate with staff to deliver wraparound services, preventive and crisis counseling as needed.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree from an accredited college or university
• Valid Texas school counselor certificate
• 2+ years of teaching experience

• Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports
• Safe and Supportive School Climate
• Collaborate with campus staff to provide wrap around services for students
• Counsel individual students, small groups, and parents using developmental guidance
• Provide preventive, remedial, and crisis counseling as needed
• Coordinate resources and refer to programs when needed
• Advocate for individual students and groups
• Plan and evaluate a balanced mental/behavioral guidance program
• Plan lessons aligned with RES curriculum and wellbeing programs
• Maintain reports and documents as required
• Comply with policies and district rules
• Adhere to professional standards and ethics
• Travel required
• Perform other duties as assigned
