Job summary

Toot’n Totum is seeking a District Manager to lead multiple stores within the assigned district in Texas. The role requires residential mobility to Lubbock and the ability to drive operational excellence across scheduling, budgeting and guest relations.

You will coach Store Managers, implement company policies, monitor performance and report to the VP of Operations. This role demands strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills to sustain profitable store results.

Qualifications

Summary

The District Manager serves as an integral part of the Operations management team. The District Manager’s function is to direct and oversee daily Store District Operations in a retail/c-store environment through coordination & execution of Company policies, procedures, and directives. This position maximizes operational efficiency of assigned store locations and communicates effectively with the VP of Operations, Store Managers and store team members to maximize store sales and profitability. The District Manager drives excellence in day-to-day operations through training, coaching and supporting their Store Managers to become strong leaders while also reaching financial objectives and resolving Guest concerns using excellent interpersonal skills.

Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Leadership responsibility for all stores within assigned district.
  • Recruit, interview, hire & train new Store Managers.
  • Oversee the daily workflow & operations of the department/store.
  • Provide constructive & timely performance reviews.
  • Provide continuous leadership and coaching to all team members, routinely shaping positive & constructive feedback to ensure the team is set up for success.
  • Handle discipline and termination of team members in accordance with company policy.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Ensure Company standards are met and maintained by protecting assets of the Company and managing ongoing operational expenses.
  • Manage store budgeted hours and overtime; oversees staffing, scheduling and personnel movement.
  • Continually survey market competition and monitor operational pricing based on our competition.
  • Trains, coaches and develop Store Managers through positive reinforcement and ongoing feedback.
  • Schedules and facilitates store meetings.
  • Provides weekly summary reports to the VP of Operations.
  • Promotes safety, recognizes and corrects safety hazards, conducts & documents safety walk-through of all facilities and provides regular safety training; reports and responds to all robberies and burglaries.
  • Promotes superior Guest relations via complaint resolution.
  • Timely executes marketing promotions and merchandising directives.
  • Coordinates and manages staffing for new and existing stores.
  • Support and facilitate organizational changes, continuous improvement and communication.

  • Must have reliable transportation and possess a good driving record (subject to Company approval) and proof of auto liability insurance.
  • 100% travel is required: day travel on a regular basis, overnight travel on occasion.
  • Must be able to respond to District needs at nights, weekends, holidays, as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience
  • High School diploma or GED
  • A minimum of seven years’ retail or food management experience required or equivalent combination of education and/or work experience
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, talk/hear, push/pull, climb, bend/stoop, crouch/kneel/crawl, taste/smell, balance, twist/reach, carry, grasp with hands, squat, drive and use keyboard.
  • Lifting Requirements: Lift/pull up to 50lbs on occasion.
  • Hearing Requirements: Ability to hear alarms, communication equipment, verbal instructions, & machinery
  • Cognitive Requirements: Basic reading, writing and math skills. Basic speech skills: must be able to speak, read, write & understand the English language, clerical tasks, memorization, analytical skills, function under stress & make independent decisions.
  • Vision Requirements: General vision requirements in addition to close vision (<20 inches), Distance Vision (>20 feet), color vision and peripheral vision.
  • Noise Levels: Normal (<85dB) noise levels.
  • Repetitive Motion(s): Regularly & repetitively use both feet and both hands.
  • Environmental Factors: General working conditions include wet/humid/steam conditions not created by weather, slippery floors, hot grease, working with mechanical parts and machinery including machinery that contains moving parts, toxic/caustic chemicals, concentrated soaps & cleaning solutions, asbestos exposure, outdoor weather conditions, extreme heat/cold, confined areas, pressurized equipment, Oxygen/Acetylene, Cylinders, CO2 Cylinders, electrical equipment, vibration, possible flying debris, flashing/strobing lighting and work around vehicles in motion.
