Job summary

The District Assistant Maintenance Manager role with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is based in PennDOT District 3 and focuses on guiding maintenance operations and shaping district strategies. Qualifications

• One year of experience as an Assistant Highway Maintenance Manager or Transportation Construction Manager 2 or equivalent.
• Seven years of technical experience in highway maintenance/construction with supervisory experience.
• Equivalent combination of experience and training including supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Apply engineering judgment to evaluate maintenance issues and recommend effective solutions.
• Coordinate annual work plans, review budgets, and support balanced program development.
• Direct subordinates by assigning tasks, reviewing performance, and providing coaching as needed.
• Review maintenance data, monitor progress toward objectives, and communicate findings to district leadership.
• Inspect roadways and maintenance work to verify needs and confirm improvements.
• Ensure maintenance activities meet environmental requirements and follow guidelines.
