Job summary

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's PennDOT seeks a District Assistant Maintenance Engineer to guide maintenance operations across District 3, applying engineering knowledge to support safe, efficient, and goal-driven road maintenance.

You will lead engineering teams, coordinate annual work plans, inspect road conditions, oversee environmental compliance, and report findings to district leadership while teleworking part-time from Pennsylvania with potential AWS.

Qualifications

Four years of professional civil engineering experience including three years in the appropriate specialty and one year directing the work of civil engineers.
Possession of a valid Professional Engineer license issued by the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists.
Valid driverís license required.

Responsibilities

Engineering Leadership: Apply engineering practices to analyze maintenance challenges and develop sound recommendations.
Program Coordination: Collaborate on annual work plans and adjust priorities to meet district goals.
Staff Management: Direct and support employees by assigning tasks, coaching performance, and evaluating results.
Operational Review: Monitor maintenance data, assess productivity, and report findings to district leadership.
Field Evaluation: Inspect road conditions and maintenance work to verify needs and assess improvement strategies.
Environmental Oversight: Guide activities to meet environmental maintenance requirements and ensure compliance with established standards.
