Job summary

Eastpointe Community Schools is seeking a District Librarian to lead library programs across four K-5 schools, one middle school, and one high school. The role focuses on integrating digital and print resources to support literacy, teaching, and equity across the district.

You will collaborate with principals, media staff, and families, leveraging partnerships with MISD, MDE, and UVA-PLE for ongoing professional growth. Immediate start is expected in a grant-funded setting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Library Science or higher and MI teaching certification with ND endorsement.
  • Strong knowledge of and proficiency in technology.
  • Experience leading library programs or projects, including ELL/WIDA.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with principals, teacher leaders, and media staff across multiple school levels to develop integrated library media programs.
  • Support instruction district-wide and foster a literacy-rich environment.
  • Lead and coordinate district-wide media resources, partnerships, and professional learning.

Who we are: Eastpointe Community Schools serves approximately 2,200 students across seven buildings in the south end of Macomb County, and we are in the business of transforming lives. Through strategic partnerships with the Macomb Intermediate School District (MISD), Michigan Department of Education (MDE), and University of Virginia’s Partners for Leaders in Education (UVA-PLE), we have created a unique opportunity to accelerate district-wide growth and turnaround. What you will do: As a District Librarian in the Eastpointe Community Schools district, you will work side by side with principals, teacher leaders, and media center paraprofessionals in four K-5 schools, one 6-7 middle school, and one 8-12 high school. In addition, you will work toward creating a literacy-rich environment through the district by developing and growing integrated school library media programs and supporting instruction throughout the district. Minimum Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Library Science or beyond
  • Valid State of Michigan Teaching Certification with ND endorsement
  • Strong knowledge of and proficiency in technology
  • Experience Leading Programs or Projects, including ELL/WIDA
  • Strong communication and organizational Skills

2026-27 Salary : EFE contract isa15 step schedule. Bachelor’s lane: $50,831- $82,897. Master’s lane: $55,105- $87,756, plus $3,000 additional on each step for MA+30 or beyond.
