Job summary

Academy Sports + Outdoors in Katy, TX seeks an experienced HR leader to drive district-wide HR strategy and workforce planning. You will partner with district leadership on talent acquisition, compliance, and programs to boost engagement and retention across multiple stores.

You will use data insights to influence decisions, manage employee relations, and lead cross-functional HR projects to deliver measurable organizational impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• PHR/SPHR/SHRM certifications preferred.
• Minimum five years’ experience as an HR Business Partner or HR Generalist.
• Advanced knowledge of HR principles, practices, and employment law.
• Proven ability to coach leaders and influence organizational outcomes.
• Experience in retail or multi-unit environments strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead HR strategy across multiple districts and partner with district leadership on workforce planning and talent acquisition.
• Ensure compliance and implement initiatives to strengthen engagement and retention.
• Manage employee relations with proactive, solutions-oriented approaches, investigations, and coaching leaders.
• Support succession planning, leadership development, and cross-functional HR projects to deliver measurable impact.
