Job summary

Sierra Pacific Industries, a fourth-generation family-owned company, seeks a District Forester to manage timberlands in Shasta and Tehama counties from its Anderson, California district office. The role involves THP planning, contract administration for logging and road work, and surveys across botanical and wildlife topics.

Qualified candidates will hold a California Registered Professional Forester license (or be eligible) and demonstrate strong communication, GIS, Word/Excel skills, and team

Qualifications

• California Registered Professional Forester license or eligibility.
• Experience with THP preparation and fieldwork.
• Strong communication and self-motivation.
• Proficient with Word, Excel and GIS software.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Timber Harvest Plans (THPs), including fieldwork and mapping.
• Administer contracts for field operations including logging and road work.
• Conduct botanical, wildlife, archeological, road and watercourse surveys.
• Collaborate with reforestation and site preparation activities.
• Interact with state regulatory agencies and diverse groups.
• Work in varied weather and remote terrain; hike as needed.
