Job summary

Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation is seeking a District Officer to supervise a Forestry Management District, directing daily operations from timber sale administration to silvicultural development. Qualifications

• Requires Masters degree in Forestry, Forest Management, or Natural Resources and two years of professional forestry leadership experience OR Bachelor in Forestry/Natural Resources with four years progressive forestry experience including two years at lead level OR Associate degree with six years forestry experience OR 12 years replacing degree.
• Active NWCG certification including one pathway (ICT4, READ, AREP, RXB2, etc.) and valid Washington State Driver's License with tribal insurance eligibility.
• Strong knowledge of forestry sciences, silvicultural systems, forest ecology, timber harvesting systems, road construction, and log scaling.

Responsibilities

• Supervise district operations including timber sale administration, presales layout, cruising, forest engineering, silvicultural development, and log scaling.
• Provide operational leadership for the Wildland Fire Management program up to ~10% of duties, especially during fire danger.
• Direct multi-crew workloads, manage district budgets, evaluate personnel, and resolve conflicts.
