Job summary

Chester County School District is seeking a Director of Finance to oversee budget, payroll, and financial reporting in a senior, exempt role reporting to the CFO. You will supervise staff, coordinate the district’s financial operations, and ensure compliance with state and federal requirements.

This role requires a bachelor’s degree in business or accounting, SBBO credential preferred, and at least five years in public school finance or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, or related area.
• Certified School Business Officer credential or the ability to obtain required.
• Minimum five years of experience in public school finance with increasing supervisory responsibility preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures.
• Lead, manage, supervise, and evaluate assigned programs and staff.
• Collaborate and assist in the preparation of the district’s annual budget.
• Maintain employee position control and verify tracking with HR.
• Oversee payroll processes including set-up, changes, and finalization of payroll.
