Job summary

Barrick Gold Corporation's Nevada Gold Mines seeks an Exploration District Geologist to lead a geoscience team and guide district-scale exploration. You will identify targets, design programs, and oversee field operations while ensuring safety, budgets, and compliance.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Geology and 10+ years' mineral exploration, with strong modeling and drill planning skills. Master’s preferred. You will mentor staff, coordinate contractors, and collaborate with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or a related field required.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in mineral exploration, including field-based project leadership preferred.
• Proven experience designing and executing exploration programs from early stage through advanced exploration required.
• Strong geological modeling, target generation, and drill planning skills required.
• Demonstrated ability to manage exploration budgets and control costs required.
• Master’s degree in Geology or related discipline preferred.
• Experience leading, training, and mentoring geologists and technical teams preferred.
• Strong technical reporting, data management, and communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Lead, train, coach, and mentor geologists; promote a collaborative, high‑performance team culture.
• Identify and advance new exploration targets aligned with district and company strategy.
• Design, propose, and execute exploration programs across all stages of the exploration pipeline.
• Develop and apply geological models to guide target generation and drill planning.
• Lead field exploration activities, ensuring high‑quality geological data collection and management.
• Manage exploration programs to meet technical objectives, schedules, and approved budgets.
• Apply economic and business criteria to evaluate and prioritize exploration opportunities.
• Prepare clear, high‑quality technical reports and deliver geological data to company standards.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and external contractors for timely project execution.
• Participate in annual exploration budget planning and manage project financial performance.
• Communicate project objectives, progress, and impacts to internal stakeholders.
• Ensure all required permits and approvals are obtained and maintained.
• Promote and enforce health, safety, environmental, and risk‑prevention standards.
