Job summary

Tenth Judicial District Public Defender in Minnesota oversees the administration of public defender services for the district. The office covers Anoka, Chisago, Isanti, Kanabec, Pine, Sherburne, Washington, and Wright counties with offices in Anoka and satellite offices in Buffalo, North Branch, and Stillwater.

Qualifications

• Admission to the Minnesota Bar.
• Five years’ experience as a practicing attorney in criminal law.
• Prior administrative experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise district employees and offices.
• Hire, discipline, or terminate employees under supervision.
• Evaluate the work of attorneys and support personnel.
• Respond to inquiries from the public about the District Public Defender Office.
• Resolve complaints from clients and decide on resolutions.
• Assign cases to ensure even workload distribution.
• Coordinate with court administration and other public defender offices.
