Job summary

Fort Worth ISD is seeking an experienced Budget Manager to oversee district budgeting operations, ensure compliance with federal and state requirements and board policies, and drive accurate forecasting across funds. Responsibilities include developing projections, preparing proposals for the Board, monitoring allocations, and coordinating annual district budget planning for general, food service, and other funds.

Strong Excel/Office skills and GAAP knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field required.
Experience in budgeting and financial management preferred.
Knowledge of district policies, procedures, and regulations.

Responsibilities

Develops and analyzes projections for budget planning to maximize use of funds; ensures overall operations are within budget.
Prepares budget proposals and recommends amendments to the board/grantor for approval.
Monitors budget allocations for accuracy; ensures expenses are within budget; reviews program expenditures and state funding allocations.
Coordinates annual budget planning for general, food service, and other funds; assists in budget control during the fiscal year.
Maintains budget information and authorizes user access to the District's financial management system.
