Job summary

Fayetteville Public Schools District is seeking a Behavior Intervention Specialist to support building administration and lead behavior interventions throughout the day.

You will collaborate with teachers, staff and families to develop and implement behavior plans, monitor student behavior, and document data to measure the impact of interventions, while maintaining FERPA confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Must be eligible to work in the United States.
• Confidentiality and FERPA compliance required.
• Full-time position: 7.5 hours/day, 180 days/year.

Responsibilities

• Prevent crises and maintain classroom safety.
• Consult with Administrators, teachers, parents, and staff to support students.
• Develop and implement behavior plans with teachers and staff.
• Monitor student behavior and provide intervention activities.
• Assist students with homework, projects, and assignments; build positive relationships.
• Document data and meet to discuss impact of interventions.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with laws and regulations.
• Reports directly to the Principal and Assistant Principal.

Job Description

District Behavior Intervention(classified)

The Behavior Intervention Paraprofessional will support the building administration as needed in carrying out various building management functions throughout the day. A large portion of the duties will be to assist leadership with student behavior intervention.

• Prevent crises: Help prevent and respond to student crises and maintain classroom safety.
• Communicate with others: Consult with Administrators, teachers, parents, and other school personnel to build a support system for students.
• Support the development of behavior plans: Collaborate with teachers, staff, and others to help develop and implement behavior support plans for students.
• Monitor student behavior: Observe student behavior in the classroom and provide intervention activities as needed or indicated in their plan.
• Provide guidance: Assist students with homework, projects, and classroom assignments, and create positive relationships.
• Document and analyze data: Help maintain documents and meet to discuss data to determine the impact of interventions.
• Maintain confidentiality: Maintain confidentiality and comply with all relevant laws and regulations with FERPA
• Reports directly to the Principal and Assistant principal. Support may be provided by the Director of Behavior Services.

Pay Details:

• Pay Range: 25 or 26 (depending on education level)
• 7.5 hours per day
• 180 contract days per year
