Job summary

Ben E. Keith Company is hiring a Distributor Sales Representative - Outside to drive food product and supply sales to food service establishments across assigned Texas territories.

You will travel to customer sites, build leads from directories and research, and execute daily sales tasks to exceed BEK targets. Qualified candidates will have a bachelor's degree in marketing or 3+ years in food service sales, proficiency in Word/Excel, and a valid driver's license with clean record.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in marketing preferred or equivalent sales experience.
• At least three (3) years of food service sales experience selling to restaurants for a major food service distributor.
• Good computer skills, with ability to use standard Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel

Position Summary and Responsibilities:

The purpose of the Distributor Sales Representative - Outside is to sell food products and supplies to food service establishments in order to meet and exceed BEK sales goals.

• Travel to customers' places of business in assigned territories to ensure customer's food products and supplies are adequately maintained.
• Compile a list of prospective customers based on research from newspapers, business directories and other sources for use as sales leads.
• Perform daily sales tasks to ensure optimal sales performance and goal expectations are met.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in marketing preferred or equivalent sales experience.
• At least three (3) years of food service sales experience selling to restaurants for a major food service distributor.
• Good computer skills, with ability to use standard Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel
• Valid driver's license with no more than 3 moving violations within last 3 years; No DUI convictions within the last 3 years

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to drive and visit customers' places of business.
• May have to deliver customers' product occasionally 50‑90lbs.
• Ability to learn and use relevant internal applications.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts for sales, commissions, discounts and volume.
• Communicating with others to exchange information.
• Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
• Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing.
• The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
• Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
