McCormick & Company, Incorporated is seeking a Distribution Technician to join the Maryland Logistics Center team in Sparrows Point, MD, operating in a hybrid 50/50 capacity. The role reports to a Team Manager and entails picking, packing, staging, and data entry to support timely order fulfillment.

This position requires experience with material handling equipment, strong clerical and numerical skills, and the ability to work overtime.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the general supervision of the Team Manager, the Distribution Technician is responsible for:

• Picking/packing/staging of all customer orders in a timely (measured through Labor Management System – LMS) and accurate manner while operating material handling equipment Powered Industrial Equipment (PIT) equipment.
• Operating a variety of material handling equipment including standup reach type equipment and/or sit-down fork trucks and a variety of industrial equipment including push-off machines, wrappers, pallet dispensers, and pallet flippers among others.
• Accurate data input and documentation.
• General warehouse duties include put-aways, line replenishment, wrapping, loading, and unloading.
• Actively participating in team meetings and special projects as required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Material handling equipment or heavy industrial equipment experience.
• Accurate clerical and numerical skills, ability to read, interpret and follow complex procedures.
• Experience required with operating a variety of equipment including Powered Industrial Equipment (PIT) and battery charging system
• Ability to work in an environment where performance against specific standards is constantly measured
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Ability to work overtime frequently or on short notice
• Ability to lift 50 pounds or more on a continuous basis
• Ability to work in extreme temperatures
• Ability to work in an environment with food-rated strong odors

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School diploma or equivalency
• Desired minimum of 2 years experience in order selection, warehousing, or inventory
• PC experience, SAP knowledge
