Job summary

Sugar Foods LLC in Whiteland, Indiana is seeking a Distribution Team Leader for the first shift to guide warehouse operations, uphold safety standards, and drive efficient receiving, storage and shipping.

You will lead a team, manage inventory accuracy, operate RF scanners and material handling equipment, rotate materials, prep orders for shipment, and ensure GMP compliance while promoting Sugar Foods’ values and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and write English.
• Ability to perform simple math (add, subtract, divide and multiply using a calculator).
• Must be able to work effectively with others.
• 1 year previous forklift driving experience.
• Ability to use hand carts/pallet jacks (electric and manual).
• Knowledge of pallet tie and height requirements.
• 2 years of previous Leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Safety Champion in the warehouse; ensure safety training and PPE compliance.
• Unload freight and handle production transfers using RF and material handling equipment.
• Complete receiving documents, transfer forms, pallet exchange forms and BOLs.
• Ensure inventory changes are properly recorded.
• Access computer for material status and forklift inspection reports.
• Drive propane or battery operated forklifts to load/unload trailers, stock and pull orders.
• Rotate raw and packaging materials upon receipt and storage.
• Wrap and prepare finished goods for shipping; assist with UPS/labeling duties.
• Promote efficient use of resources to maximize labor savings.
• Own warehouse inventory; prepare for physical inventory.
• Ensure GMP, housekeeping and floor organization compliance.
• Obtain proper material for repacking; report as assigned.
• Promote Sugar Foods core values and team principles.
• Adhere to company policies and safe practices.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for being a Safety Champion in the warehouse, ensuring Safety is in practice every day, takes actions to identify and correct unsafe conditions or actions. Ensures completion of all safety training. Monitors building security/safety and works in a safe manner. Leads by example of using all required PPE and Safety equipment.

Physical Demands & Work Environment
