AECOM is seeking an experienced Distribution System Planner to help plan safe, reliable, and future-ready energy and distribution systems for diverse clients in Chicago. This hands-on role focuses on electric distribution planning, grid modernization, and infrastructure analysis.

Qualifikationen

• BA/BS in Electrical Engineering or Power Systems Engineering with at least 6 years of related experience or equivalent
• 6 years of related experience in electric utility distribution planning or similar
• Hands-on experience performing distribution system planning studies
• Experience with CYME, Synergi Electric, WindMil, ETAP or comparable tools
• Knowledge of distribution load flow, voltage, thermal capacity, contingency, and reliability analyses
• Experience evaluating feeder/substation capacity and developing improvement alternatives
• Masters degree and PE license are preferred

Aufgaben

• Perform near-term and long-range distribution system and energy infrastructure planning studies
• Develop and maintain distribution network and energy system planning models
• Evaluate feeders, transformers, substations and customer-owned assets for capacity and growth
• Conduct load flow, voltage, thermal, contingency and related system analyses
• Identify constraints and operational challenges and propose viable infrastructure alternatives
• Support development of multi-year capital plans and asset management strategies
• Translate load forecasts into feeder and substation capacity requirements
• Collaborate with client teams across planning, engineering, operations, and sustainability
