This position acts as a subject matter expert in a program or system role in a technical discipline among peers within a department. It works in conjunction with other engineering disciplines as well as craft employees and is responsible for developing design and construction standards.
This position is designated as a safety‑sensitive role and is subject to mandatory pre‑employment and random drug testing.
Plan and conduct independent engineering work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application, and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria. Devise new approaches to solving problems. Work within a team environment to create and maintain material specifications, material standards, and process in Utility Distribution. Current opening will span the areas of overhead and underground construction as well as line equipment and control implementation. Future duties may involve other portions of the Design Basis group related to transformers, distributed energy resources, interconnection issues, and engineering support.
Technical degree (2‑year associate or 4‑year bachelor’s) and/or years of operational experience in electric utilities commensurate with progression level (15 years for distribution specification).
6 years with a 4‑year bachelor’s degree, 8 years with a 2‑year associate degree, 10 years with supervisory experience, or 15 years without a degree.
Must have a valid driver's license.
