Job summary

Merit Brass Co. in Cleveland, OH is seeking a Distribution Specialist for the 2nd shift (12:00 pm–8:30 pm). This role focuses on accurate picking, packing, receiving, and inventory control to support timely order fulfillment and safety.

On-the-job training is provided to grow with the team; candidates should be dependable, eager to learn, and able to operate powered equipment and handle 50–70 lb materials. Proficiency with PowerdPick and D365 is used daily.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of warehouse experience or training.
• High school reading, writing and mathematical skills.
• Ability to stand, reach, bend, push and pull bulky material; lift 50–70 lbs.
• Leadership experience with analytical problem-solving abilities.
• Willingness to work overtime or alternate schedules as needed.

Responsibilities

• Accurately pick and pack products using PowerdPick and D365.
• Perform receiving functions, including receipt and put-away for overseas, domestic and inter-company transfers.
• Assist in activities that support inventory accuracy and on-time delivery.
• Handle onboard training and development of associates within determined areas.
• Strive to achieve production metrics: safety, quality, productivity, and customer needs.
• Operate powered industrial equipment per safety procedures.
• Learn product line and corresponding identification numbers.
• Perform other duties to support Merit Brass Distribution.

Objectives:

• Must be able to operate all Powered Industrial Equipment (PIE) (including but not limited to pallet jacks, stand-up/sit-down tow motors, cherry pickers, Big Joe machines, cranes, Booms, etc.) by adhering to Merit's safety procedures/processes
• Ability to learn product line and corresponding identification numbers
• Perform other duties that may be assigned to support overall Merit Brass Distribution

Requirements

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent education
• Ability to do basic high school reading, writing, and mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
• Minimum of two years of warehouse experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Demonstrate success in a leadership role with analytical problem-solving abilities
• Must be able to stand, reach, bend, push, and pull bulky material for the entire shift, and capable of lifting 50-70 lbs. frequently
• Excellent work habits, including punctuality, attendance, and work ethic
• Willingness and ability to work overtime or alternate schedules when asked by a manager or supervisor
