Job summary

FirstEnergy Corp seeks an engineer to analyze and strengthen the reliability of Pennsylvania's electrical distribution systems. You will develop long-range plans, oversee infrastructure projects, and support regulatory reporting as part of a collaborative team.

Qualifications include an ABET‑accredited engineering degree (PE preferred) and up to 5 years of related experience, with a focus on electrical systems and data-driven decision making.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Bachelor of Science in Engineering is required.
• PE license is preferred or equivalent advanced degree with ABET program.
• 0–5 years engineering experience required.
• FE exam knowledge is a plus.
• Experience with electrical systems, maintenance, and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Assess and improve reliability of Pennsylvania distribution systems.
• Develop long-range plans for system modernization and reliability targets.
• Prepare budgets and schedules for distribution projects.
• Support regulatory reporting and customer inquiries.
• Monitor field equipment logs and perform remediation.
• Collaborate across teams to ensure safe operation and compliance.
