Overview




Our Power Delivery group is seeking a Distribution Planning Engineer to join the team. Responsibilities of this role will include problem identification and resolution on design projects to developing technical system planning work scopes and more. Responsibilities




This role focuses on identifying and resolving issues in distribution design projects while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Key responsibilities include system analysis and planning using software like Windmil, CYME, or Synergi, and modeling electrical distribution equipment such as fuses and reclosers. You'll also review planning and design outputs for quality, develop technical work scopes, and uphold best practices in distribution system planning and design.

  • Problem Identification & Resolution: Problem identification and resolution on Distribution design projects
  • Distribution Analysis & Planning: Knowledge of distribution analysis and planning using software such as Windmil, CYME and/or Synergi. Knowledge of electrical distribution system planning and design engineering standards, practices, and regulatory requirements
  • Equipment Modeling & Programming: Knowledge of Time-Current Characteristics modeling and programming of typical electrical distribution equipment such as fuses, tripsavers, and reclosers
  • Quality & Compliance Review: Review of completed analysis and planning products to ensure compliance with client, industry, and regulatory requirements. Review of planning products and design products to ensure compliance with quality and consistency expectations
  • Technical Planning Development: Develop technical system planning work scopes

Qualifications




  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical Engineering (or similar), or equivalent education and/or experience
  • PE highly preferred
  • Minimum of 6 years of Power Delivery experience required
  • Must be proficient with software such as Windmil, CYME and/or Synergi
  • Strong knowledge of electrical distribution system planning and design engineering standards and practices, and regulatory requirements
  • Must be proficient with typical office software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Windows
  • Strong computer (e.g. Microsoft Office) and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Willingness to learn and operate client provided programs and systems
  • Ability to travel up to 20 - 25% of the time to client sites (expected to travel at least one time per month) for project and/or marketing meetings
