Job description

Distribution Operator (MDC) – Carthage, Missouri

Earn up to $28.77 an hour in 24 months. 12-hour night shift (6pm–6am), rotating shift with every other weekend.

Job Description

Properly receive and warehouse incoming finished goods, bulk cheese, and other products; assemble same products for outbound disposition to customers, meeting their requirements. Use computerized terminals for handling. Ability to cover bulk support when needed.

Work with leaders and partners to ensure Food Safety and Partner Safety. Understand and execute standard operating procedures. Perform all PCP checks required for position. Follow reaction plan for Food Safety, Food Quality, and customer requirement outages by contacting TA/TL. Identify and understand customer requirements to assure proper operation and product. Record accurate data on production reports.

  • Completion of forklift training and maintenance of forklift operator license.
  • Completion of all Job Specific Safety Training, including LOTO and JHA.
  • Completion of 3–5 week training checklist and meeting the requirements.
  • Proficiency in distribution operations – order picking up to 50 lb cases. Data entry and cycle counting post pick with required inventory adjustments in Invio.
  • Understanding of RF unit operation, data entry, and use to perform duties.
  • Outbound load building for shipment, ensuring customer specific requirements are met—temp recorders, high cube and weight loads to DOT standards, accurate multi‑stop load building, customer unique double stacking requirements.
  • Vendor receipts including entering critical data and reconciling vendor BOL quantities and weights to Invio PO information.
  • Re‑distribution – accurate receipt of product and understanding of customer requirements. Reconcile customer BOL to Invio (weight, lot number, shelf life, make date, item number, case qty), research differences, follow unique customer specific SOPs.
  • Proficient in GMPs and all QSPs concerning distribution.
  • Complete understanding and ability to communicate food safety requirements pertaining to trailer condition, ref settings, and what items are food safe to load with cheese.
  • Maintain Food Safety training and certification.
  • Understanding of legal requirements of a Bill of Lading and proper procedure for signing and completing documentation.
  • Ability to complete Over‑Short and Damage paperwork with an inbound finished goods load.
  • Working knowledge and safe operation of all Distribution Center equipment: forklift, stretch wrapper, pallet inverter, dock plate, dock lock, dock doors, battery chargers, and battery crane.
  • Operate in a 35‑38 °F environment.
  • Maintain proper rotation of products within the Bulk Cheese, Finished Goods and Dry Storage warehouses. Assemble customer orders by stock number, lot/sub‑lot number or other identified methods.
  • Move product or material to ensure ITP accuracy for ingredients, film, and corrugated.
  • Communicate effectively with team members including Traffic clerk, Inventory Control, QA Technician, System Specialist, and leaders to ensure all customer requirements are met.
  • Proficiency in reading and comprehension of the English language.
  • Must be able to work overtime or weekends.
  • Other duties as assigned by TL/TA.
Physical Demands

Work day: 12 hours. Sit: 0–12 h on forklift. Stand, walk: 0–12 h picking boxes. Continuous: Twist, lifting boxes, and turning to drive forklift backwards. Frequent: Balance, getting on/off forklift. Occasional: Bend, stoop, squat, kneel for low boxes. Lifting requirements: 0–12 h. Above shoulders: 6–85 (O) large boxes, push up on dock doors (F) small to medium boxes. Desk to chair: same. Chair to floor: same. Push/pull: 25–50 (O) plastic wrap pallets, pull down dock doors. Carry: 0–65 (O) pallets short distances.

This position requires passing a post‑offer background check, physical and drug screen.
