Job summary

McLane Company, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Distribution Manager in Kentucky to oversee warehouse operations, training, scheduling, and safety compliance.

You will manage staffing, optimize order picking, monitor inventory, and support efficiency improvements across receiving, shipping, and storage activities. The role requires 3–5 years in warehousing, knowledge of AS/400, and proficiency with Excel/Word/Access.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 3–5 years experience in outbound/inbound warehousing, foodservice preferred.
• Experience with mainframe AS/400; proficiency in Excel, Word and Access.

Responsibilities

• Oversee training and scheduling for warehouse shifts.
• Minimize mistakes and waste through coordination and supervision.
• Ensure compliance with sanitation rules (OSHA).
• Manage manpower needs for warehouse shifts and prevent substandard staffing.
• Develop and implement procedures to receive/send, unload/load, and store freight.
• Review warehouse layout and product slotting to optimize order picking.
• Monitor inventory levels and communicate needs to Supply Chain.
• Ensure repairs to warehouse equipment are completed timely and cost-effectively.
• Maintain warehouse safety per company and government standards.
• Help achieve monthly throughput goals and monitor overtime.
• Train warehouse personnel to meet departmental objectives and prepare for expanded responsibilities.
• Assist with researching new techniques to improve warehouse efficiency.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
