Job description

  • Coordinates all daily Parts & Accessories distribution center related business within assigned distribution center in the areas of:
  • Communication
  • Logistics Support
  • Inventory Control
  • Monitors daily reports to ensure stability of distribution center performance and research operational issues requiring corrective action.
  • Provides feedback and operational recommendations to third-party logistics providers to improve warehouse efficiencies, operational performance, and customer service.
  • Reports daily, weekly, and monthly distribution center performance metrics to the Operations group and assists in identifying operational trends and process improvement opportunities.
  • Overseas third-party logistics provider activities to ensure operations remain in compliance with Kawasaki operational policies and established service expectations.
  • Coordinates all out-of-scope (ad hoc) operational activities with Distribution Centers and internal departments.
  • Coordinates warehouse supply requirements with Distribution Centers, monitors usage, and assists in identifying cost reduction opportunities.
  • Communicates inbound load projections with Distribution Centers and reconciles receipts not in transit.
  • Monitors and audits item suspensions, inventory adjustments, cycle count discrepancies, and receipt variances while coordinating resolution with warehouse operations.
  • Initiates and processes freight claims, freight call tags, transportation exceptions, and shipment investigations.
  • Coordinates recycled parts bin returns and other reverse logistics activities.
Returns Management
  • Oversee the complete dealer, distributor, employee, internal, warranty, and retail eCommerce returns process from return authorization through final resolution.
  • Serves as the primary operational contact for return-related inquiries from dealers, Customer Service, Finance, Transportation, Distribution Centers, and internal departments.
  • Research and resolves return issues involving shipping discrepancies, damaged merchandise, incorrect shipments, inventory shortages, product disposition, and customer concerns.
  • Coordinates return authorizations, warehouse processing, inventory reconciliation, customer communication, and product disposition activities.
  • Reviews and validate return eligibility and coordinates customer credits and financial adjustments with Finance.
  • Develops and maintains reporting related to return activity, processing performance, return aging, credit accuracy, and operational Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Identifies recurring return trends and assists in developing recommendations that improve customer satisfaction, inventory accuracy, and operational performance.
Accessory Replacement Component Program
  • Coordinates Kawasaki's Accessory Replacement Component Program by researching and resolving dealer, distributor, retail customer, and internal requests for replacement accessory components and hardware.
  • Serves as the primary operational contact for replacement component inquiries and provides timely resolution of product support issues.
  • Research and sources replacement accessory components through inventory, Purchasing, Product Development, suppliers, and Distribution Centers.
  • Maintains accessory replacement component relationships within Kawasaki systems by establishing and updating links between finished accessories and individual replacement components.
  • Coordinates establishment and maintenance of replacement component information for new accessory introductions to support dealer and internal lookup capabilities.
  • Works closely with Product Development, Purchasing, Inventory Planning, Information Technology, and Customer Service to ensure replacement component information remains accurate and current.
  • Develops and maintains documentation supporting replacement component identification and dealer self-service resources.
Operational Support
  • Represents Kawasaki's Distribution Operations department by providing professional customer service and operational support to dealers, distributors, retail customers, and internal departments.
  • Coordinates cross-functional resolution of operational issues involving Customer Service, Transportation, Purchasing, Inventory Planning, Finance, Product Development, Information Technology, Distribution Centers, and third-party logistics providers.
  • Research operational issues involving inventory discrepancies, shipment variances, supplier performance, product quality, packaging, returns, and replacement component requests while assisting in identifying corrective actions.
  • Supports supplier performance and regulatory compliance initiatives by maintaining operational data, coordinating information requests, and assisting with implementation of compliance-related operational processes.
  • Assists in the collection, validation, and maintenance of operational data supporting supplier compliance programs, regulatory reporting requirements, and departmental initiatives.
  • Maintains operational system data supporting inventory control, accessory replacement components, reverse logistics, and other business processes utilized in supplier performance and regulatory compliance programs.
  • Supports compliance-related audits by researching operational records, inventory transactions, returns history, and distribution activities.
  • Participates in implementation of operational process improvements, system enhancements, reporting enhancements, and departmental initiatives supporting Kawasaki's distribution network.
  • Performs other duties and special projects assigned.
Education and Experience:

A bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) or equivalent from a four-year college or university is preferred; and a minimum of five years related experience and/or training in distribution operations, logistics, inventory control, transportation, customer service, or supply chain operations; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
