Job summary

Wausau Supply Company in Colfax, NC is seeking a Distribution Material Handler to pick and pack orders, ensure correct loading, and maintain a safe, efficient work area.

The role requires lifting up to 75 pounds, standing for long periods, and strong teamwork. Training will be provided for ERP technologies and forklift use within a safety-conscious environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; training provided for ERP tech and forklift as a plus.

Responsibilities

• Pick and pack to ensure orders are pulled and packaged properly.
• Ensure orders are loaded on the correct trailer with complete paperwork for shipping.
• Develop and maintain a clean, safe working environment; participate in safety trainings.
• Operate material handling equipment (forklift, RF unit) and support interdepartmental movement.
• Support team goals and perform other duties to aid department and company mission.

WHAT THIS ROLE WILL BE DOING:

Duties to include, but not limited to:

• Consistently demonstrate and incorporate principals of safety
• Pick and pack to ensure all orders are pulled and packaged properly to be loaded
• Ensure all orders are loaded properly on the correct trailer and all the paperwork is complete so the orders can ship
• Develop and maintain a clean, safe working environment and ensure participation in safety programs and required trainings
• Sort and move product interdepartmentally while operating and using a variety of material handling equipment, including, but not limited to, forklift, RF unit (hand-held), etc.
• Perform all duties in a manner that promotes team concept and encourages team effort
• Perform other duties assigned that would lead to successful operation of department, team, and/or company mission

Education / Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Warehouse hand-held ERP technology experience a plus but not required - training will be provided
• Forklift certification/prior warehouse experience a plus but not required – training will be provided

Working Demands / Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds
• Ability to stand, bend, and walk for long periods of time

Reports to: Distribution Manager/ Assistant Distribution Manager/ Supervisor
