Job summary

Phoenix Metals Company is seeking personnel in the Plant family to supervise and perform metals processing and distribution tasks. The role involves operating material handling equipment, inspecting materials, tagging and documenting items, and safely moving goods on Company property.

Candidates should have up to 5 years of related experience, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to obtain certification for required equipment.

Qualifications

• 0-5 years of relevant experience (or equivalent education/experience).
• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Warehousing and material handling experience preferred.
• Must obtain certification to operate motorized material handling and rigging equipment.
• Clear oral and written communication skills, legible handwriting.
• Adequate manual dexterity and multi-limb coordination.
• Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and perform basic math.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively.
• Ability to make sound decisions based on knowledge and experience.
• Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships.

Responsibilities

• General tasks with detailed instructions.
• Safely load/unload material to/from supplier vehicles using material handling equipment (forklifts, overhead cranes, side loaders).
• Examine material for obvious quality defects and measure conformance to orders using tape measures.
• Tag material for identification and complete required documentation.
• Safely operate commercial trucks on company property.
• Keep the work area clean, safe, and orderly.
• Report irregularities to supervisor for direction.
• Adhere to safety and quality standards.
