Ampirical is hiring a Distribution Engineering Manager in the United States to lead a qualified team of engineers and designers in distribution line projects. You will oversee conceptual routes, layouts, and detailed designs, ensuring quality in all project deliverables.

The role requires a PE and a Bachelor’s degree from ABET-accredited university, with 12+ years in distribution line design and at least 5 years of people management. Occasional travel up to 25% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from ABET-accredited university; PE required (2-year experience may substitute).
• 12+ years in distribution line design and project execution.
• 5+ years managing multidisciplinary engineering personnel.

Responsibilities

• Supervise engineers, designers, drafters, and project support coordinators; conduct performance reviews.
• Direct and oversee Design and Planning Engineers for distribution lines (conceptual routes, layouts, designs, specs).
• Prepare construction sketches, plan/profile sheets, staking sheets, BOMs, permit drawings.
• Create pole loading and framing drawings; perform design calculations.
• Lead Distribution System Planning and Protection projects and development of project proposals and schedules.
• Travel to client sites as needed; maintain customer relationships in FL and surrounding regions.
