Job summary

United Utility Services in Commerce City, CO seeks a Distribution Engineer with a PE license to lead QA/QC for electric utility distribution projects. You will ensure designs meet codes, standards, and client requirements while mentoring team members.

The role involves design reviews, field support, and coordination with project managers. Travel and remote work options may apply; a strong background in QA/QC is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an accredited institution.
• Active PE license in at least one US state; ability to obtain additional licensure as required by project needs.
• Typically 6+ years of experience in electric utility distribution engineering (overhead and/or underground).
• Demonstrated experience performing technical reviews and/or leading QA/QC for engineering deliverables.
• Working knowledge of electric utility distribution standards, construction practices, and applicable codes/regulations (NESC/NEC/OSHA).
• Ability to review and interpret utility drawings, one-lines, specifications, and material standards; strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Lead QC reviews for electric utility distribution designs and BOMs.
• Ensure compliance with client standards and applicable codes.
• Review overhead and underground distribution designs and staking sheets.
• Mentor engineers and drafters; promote design quality and standardization.
• Coordinate QC milestones with project managers and document dispositions.
