Job summary

MidAmerican Energy Company is seeking engineers to support planning, design, construction and maintenance of the electric distribution system from Urbandale, IA. Roles include Engineer 1/2/Sr levels, with responsibilities across planning, design specs, procurement, project management and reporting.

Ideal candidates have a PE license (or substantial engineering experience for senior levels) and strong communication, analytical and multitasking abilities in a regulated utility environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution for Engineer 1.
• 1-3 years of engineering experience for Engineer 2.
• 5+ years of industry experience as a practicing engineer; PE licensed required for higher levels.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering services for planning, design, construction and maintenance of the distribution system.
• Provide technical assistance with engineering studies and investigations and preparation of oral and written reports.
• Provide engineering assistance to other departments and perform additional responsibilities as requested.
• Demonstration of knowledge and understanding of human performance improvement techniques; evaluate and implement practices to prevent human error.
