Design Hire is supporting an established utility engineering team seeking a Distribution Engineer to contribute to complex Transmission & Distribution (T&D) projects and reliable infrastructure solutions. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Civil Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Experience with PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, O-Calc, or Spida Calc.
• Working knowledge of electrical distribution design and utility engineering practices.
• Familiarity with local electrical codes, GO95, NESC, IEEE, and ASCE standards.
• EIT certification is preferred.
• SDG&E experience is highly desirable.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and technical documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop overhead electrical design packages, technical drawings, and construction documents for utility distribution projects.
• Perform engineering calculations, structural assessments, and quantity takeoffs to support project design and construction.
• Produce and maintain detailed plan production deliverables while ensuring drawing packages meet project and client requirements.
• Analyze construction and operational problems, identify practical solutions, and coordinate technical revisions throughout the project lifecycle.
• Perform quality assurance (QA) reviews of drawings and calculations and assist with scope and fee development for assigned work.
