- Develop design and construction work packages for electrical overhead and underground distribution systems
- Review client-provided work and assess scope requirements
- Perform structural analysis for wood pole loading and guying calculations
- Specify conductor sags and tensions for recommended spans
- Calculate voltage drop and flicker
- Provide engineering support during construction
- Conduct post-construction reviews to verify engineering and construction standards
- Conduct root cause analysis of outages and develop mitigation using engineering principles and design
- Coordinate conflicting utilities and other field engineering design requirements
- Assess and develop large design packages for complex cable/conduit projects in dense urban environments
- Develop work permits, easements, and right-of-way applications
- Work directly with clients and support local utility customers
- Attend in-person meetings and assignments throughout the New Jersey customer territory as needed
Requirements
- 2+ years of prior relevant experience required
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial preferred; additional relevant experience/certifications may be considered in lieu of bachelor's degree
- Experience executing distribution projects from kickoff through design approved, including customer interaction and process documentation
- Experience with utility reliability projects
- Proficiency with the NESC
- Ability to utilize a personal vehicle
- Willingness to perform both field and office work
- Ability to work in outdoor environments on occasion
- Ability to conduct customer-site visits to collect field data
- Valid U.S. driver's license required
- Previous QAQC experience nice to have
- Experience providing estimated costs, developing a BOM, and calculating the CIAC nice to have
- Experience with Pole Foreman, O-Calc, or Spida-Calc nice to have
- Experience with the Work Management System CREWS nice to have
- Relevant management or leadership experience nice to have
