Job summary

HDR is a multinational engineering and design firm hiring for a Distribution EIT/Coordinator role in Chicago, Illinois. You will conduct analyses to develop power-related design options, prepare deliverables, and support senior engineers on larger projects.

The position requires an Engineering degree, Microsoft Office skills, and a commitment to our employee-owned culture; EIT certification is preferred for career progression.

Responsibilities

• Conduct analyses to develop power-related design options or recommendations and assist in preparing project deliverables.
• Perform routine engineering assignments using standard techniques and procedures.
• Complete projects with clear objectives and limited variables.
• Work independently on small projects or assist more-senior engineers on larger projects.
• Collaborate with Project Engineers, other EITs, Designers, or BIM Specialists as needed.
• Perform other duties as needed.

In the role of Distribution EIT/Coordinator, we'll count on you to:

• Conduct analyses to develop power-related design options or recommendations, and assist in the preparation of project deliverables (examples include engineering drawing packages, cost estimates, and project specifications)
• Perform routine engineering assignments requiring application of standard techniques and procedures
• Complete projects with clear, specified objectives and limited variables.
• Work independently on small projects, or assist more-senior engineers / professionals on larger projects
• Work with assistance from Project Engineers, other Engineers In-Training (EITs), Designers, or BIM Specialists as needed
• Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate
• Candidates without their EIT will be placed into a Design Coordinator job code and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering
• Computer skills in Microsoft Office

The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full‑time regular positions. Temporary and part‑time roles eligible for limited benefits.) Illinois: $62,986.00 - $96,800
