Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Distribution Design Engineer to support upgrades of a major energy provider's distribution grids. You will schedule, develop and own construction plans, create work packages, and manage scope and timelines.

Field work, notes, measurements and design tasks will be performed using GIS, CAD, WMS and client systems. You can expect to perform engineering calculations such as pole structural analysis, transformer sizing, voltage drop and protective device coordination,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical or civil engineering.
• 0-2 years of design engineering experience with electric utilities or consulting.
• Comfortable in field and office settings; valid transportation.
• Willingness to travel ~15% across surrounding cities.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and develop construction plans for project work.
• Create work packages and construction plans; bill of materials.
• Own field work: notes, photos, measurements; design construction plans.
• Use GIS, CAD, WMS and client systems for engineering calculations.
